oatmeal, let me sing your praises...

I just went through a surreal experience. My son, the must play, eating is boring, non-sleeper, just melted in my husband's arms and went to sleep without even a whimper. I didn't even give him his 5 minute go to sleep rocking, I just plunked him down in his crib. What has lead to this strange occurrence? I blame baby oatmeal cereal. It's like turkey. It makes you sleepy. I don't know if this is completely true, but I'll keep feeding it to him before nap times and bed time if we keep getting the same result. Today we got a 1.5 hour nap from oatmeal at breakfast. This from the 30 minute napper.

To be honest, we've been working hard over the last week to get him on a regular routine with 3 meals a day, 2 snacks, 2 naps, and lots of play time in between. I assume that this is helping him settle at night too. We're also trying to really get naps and sleeping at specific times to see if he sleeps better. We seem to have weathered the teething storm for the moment, so now he's back to being up at 11p and then at 3a but sleeps the rest of the time.

I guess I'll finally take time to ready that how to make baby food book now.

To get even more in his tummy, mix applesauce or other jarred fruits in with it. Awesome.

yeah, tobo doesn't really eat any cereal unless its mixed with something. ( I kind of agree, it tastes like paste) He usually takes it with veggies or with fruit. He's a little behind the curve in eating, but not so that anyone but me would probably notice. We're kind of where we should have been at 7 months now. (re cheerios) Honestly, as long has he's growing and healthy I have no complaints.
