So we seriously need to baby proof the apt. I had hoped to make it to thanksgiving weekend, but tobo has other plans. Specifically:"cool a fireplace! lets play with that. Also my arms are longer so I can get into stuff when left alone. I want to walk on down the hall." How's this for a comparison:
8 days old vs. 8 months old
Our recurring theme these days is: "[exchange looks]...we're in trouble".
We're also for all intents and purposes starting to ween. Instead of pumping we're using formula (I couldn't find enough time during the day to keep up with tobo and pump) and we're eating 2 solid meals a day with a 3rd one probably getting added soon. We've moved up to stage 2 containers since he's eating so much more now. I'm kind of bummed about it, which I hear is normal, but trying not to get to caught up with it. He'd be weening in a few months anyway, this is just earlier than I had hoped. I'm also not excited about adding $25 a week to our grocery bill but what can you do. He's still having problems with gagging himself on anything other than teething biscuits. I'm not sure if I should keep trying stuff out and let him learn, or give him a week and try again latter. I gave some carrot wagon wheels a shot but no good. He definitely wants to feed himself, he just needs to learn to respect how far he can shove things into his mouth.
And here are a few videos of our boy crawling??? well something like it anyway.
tobo is on the move.
tobo chases doober around the floor.

Yup. You are soooo screwed. Good look finding high places for all your books. :)
No rush on the food, since his nutrition will be from formula till a year, but sounds like he's into it, so might as well keep experimenting as long as it's not turning him off. Or just give him a billion Cheerios a day if that's what he likes. Anna did!
He will gag early on with solid-er foods; it's horrible to watch but he will get over it within a few days. And at least you're only on formula for another 4 or so months... there's a light at the end of the liquid tunnel.
Charlie only likes the wagon wheels broken into fourths. He just loves those darn puffs - you know, the ones that have no nutritional value at all but keeps him busy during dinner? We also have struck gold with toddler cereal bars. Very mushy but apparently flavorful.
And yes. Cheerios. Billions of them. We buy the huge family size box.
