cabin weekend - sickness :/

We had a chance to go up to the Evergreen, CO Cabin this weekend so we took it. Even though I started to feel bad Thursday evening. I went from fine to head cold in about 2 hours. I hoped it would clear up sometime over the weekend. Instead I passed it on to Paul first and now Tobo. I'm still not well, but better enough to know that I shouldn't push it too much this evening. I am kind of bummed, because I had hope to do an outing to the lake while we were up the mountain. Instead I mostly knitted, sat like a lump, whined, and napped.

Even with all of us feeling under the weather, we still had a good time just hanging out, watching the wind blowing through the aspen and pine, or the fox checking out who was hanging out on his property. I've heard there are cubs, though we didn't see them.

Tobo did not climb any flight of stairs (we brought a gate), but he did practice a lot on the one step landing we gave him access to. Up and "please help me get down, look! I'm even using the new hand sign you taught me so you can't tell me to do it myself because you want to reinforce the help sign." He only stepped off boldly once or twice. Usually he'd try to use the wall next to him to steady his decent. Oh, and Paul found a rotten board on the porch (by stepping on it) so we got to watch dad do carpentry so no one else would fall in. Tobo spent most of the time yelling "DA! DA!" at the sliding glass doors where we were watching Paul work.
