Tobo was in the walkers room (2-3's) at church today for the first time. We all knew he was ready, we were just waiting so a few of his buddies from the infant room could move on up too. Tobo came home with two interesting new habits: lots of new vocabulary/interest in talking and yelling in protest. You can guess how far that second thing got him this evening at dinner. Tonight we had an exciting conversation about how not only did the little boys go potty, but so did the little girls! (wow!) He was very excited about all the trucks and games. He also then promptly mimicked "be careful" back to me, pitch perfect.
So I think if we want to accelerate his entrance into the english speaking world, we just need to get him around older kids more. We're looking at a caretaker (she watches kids from 1.5 to 4yrs) to watch tobo for a day a week. We'll start with a half day and work up to more if it seems to be good for him. It also means I'll be at work more, if I can stand to let him go. I figure we'll give it a try and see how it goes. It's a safe environment and he seemed to have a lot of fun there when we checked the place out last week.
More as I think of it.
