For the record Tobo is now 25 lbs (14%) 34.5" tall (50%) and his head is 19" (38%). He's finally over the 10%. Our new doctor at kp was happy his growth was following a normal curve. It was nice to get out of the 10% range.
I feel like we use to do these check ups every 5 minutes, now it will be a year before we are at the doctor's again, God willing. This is the first check up that didn't involve ANY shots. (We got the last H1N1 with nasal spray) Tobo was polite, followed directions and was a really good sport through the whole process. The doctor was mighty impressed with his listening and attentiveness to her requests. She looked over the little questionnaire they give you to evaluate his development and all his stuff was good with only a few things missing. She then tells me that these tests span a developmental range above and below what a 2 year old should be able to do with fine motor skills, large motor skills, comprehension, etc. and that Tobo is doing really well for his age. Great. My kids a genius. Excellent. As an off comment I mention what he had just said before she came in (looking at the instruments on the wall) dis doctor, he tall guy. Well...she's impressed with this little piece of deductive thinking (as am I) and says we have nothing to worry about. Then just before she leaves she says something like 'you're so smart will have to keep any eye on you buddy". and I say: "yeah..wait what?" And then she says that sometime when kids are so far along mentally that they will lack social development, usually after 4 years old. So we should just be aware of it, but everything else looks good. I'm thinking: you just couldn't let him be brilliant and leave it at that? I think it was just an off comment. It was just an odd thing to say. I didn't mention that we've encouraged him set traps in the house for wandering heros, practice his BWAH-Ha-ha-ha laugh and I guess we just can't get a fluffy white cat. Gracious!
