Well, that was an unexpected hiatus from blogs, facebook, emails, calendars, skype, online photo galleries, online comics and news sources, friends, family and everyone else. Our dsl modem just died on Friday. We got the new one today. In the meantime, lots of stuff has happened.
Biggest news is we finally spilled the beans about possibly accepting a call to Singapore so Paul can go do IT in a distant land. Some nice unsuspecting person asked me the other day if I was ready for Singapore and I basically laughed in her face until I realized how rude that probably was. We're excited about Singapore. We're confident in our calling to Singapore. We are not ready for Singapore. So many fiddly details which are on hold until the field officially asks us. And I want them to take time and pray about it so its not a knee jerk reaction. The last thing I want to do is to move our family across the globe for no good reason. I'm glad I have listen to how God has been leading because I had other plans for this year, but it's a lot of lessons on patience and waiting right now.
Secondly, we did a crazy adventure road trip to New Wineskins. It was everything I was hoping it would be. Lots of Anglicans excited about the great commission happening around the world. I didn't expect to find as many unrelated OMF connections as were there though, especially through wea.org. I didn't get to go to as much as I wanted because they were low on kid volunteers but Paul got to get in touch with a lot of all friends. I couldn't believe how many people attended the Trinity dinner though. I was happy to hear how SAMS has changed and is becoming global. We also shared a table with Watchword, some old neighbors of ours from the zetaweb days. Really good to catch up with folks but also meet new friends.
Since we've been back we just hit the ground running. It's showing up in how tired our little guy is.
