Tobo clapped on his own today for the first time. Totally out of the blue, because he wanted to go somewhere. He's taken a few more steps but over the last few days he seems to be crawling only again.
He's definitely got a first word "hot". Of course this can mean any liquid, glass, cup, bath, but you generally get the idea. He may be following it up with "go" or maybe I just miss heard him the other night.
He's started to figure out that dada comes from the outside. He spent part of the morning today looking out the front window saying da da da da da, etc. And then again this afternoon, he pointed at the front window and say dada? Soon child, soon. :D So the language center is definitely firing up! Also, today he actually used a spoon correctly. For two scoops he guided it into his mouth...and then let me do the rest. Usually, we just get a flinging mess of food everywhere.
We've been having kind of quiet week when we're home. Paul took him to his first play park yesterday since the weather was like 72 and sunny. He said he liked the swing quite a bit, but there weren't really many other toddler toys there. I was happy about it because tobo slept from 7:30p to 6:30a with a brief wake up at 3a (rolled over and put himself back to sleep). So, pretty neat.
Today I was getting a bit of cabin fever because the temperture has dropped back down to the 30's. So we took the podegi out for a spin. Mine is a winter blanket version, so between that and our coats tobo was a snug little bug on my back. I'm glad I did too. The package has arrived from Rockford and I needed two arms to get it back to the apartment. Since tobo was still amendable to riding, we took the trash out and went for a quick walk down to the canal. If he was old enough, this would have been perfect weather for hot cocoa. He took a bottle instead.
