As to the rest of our life, things are going pretty well. We continue to work at OMF Intl, in our meager little ways. Sometimes I feel it's a shame they pay me because I really enjoy the work. If you know me, and my need to work, it's great to not be mom all the time. Most recently I was given an opportunity to work on a prayer guide for Thailand. Though I approached the project with trepidation because it had been sketched out already by someone else, it really grew on me and I'm now really proud to have been a part of the project. It should be available at omfbooks shortly. Because I do so many day to day little projects, it was nice to work on something more long term for a change. Not that I'm complaining. See statement above. Any day that I get to sit at a computer and design something is a good day in my books.
Other than that, we are getting ready to open our house up to well, everyone we know in CO. We are by nature introverted, but we've been meaning to repay all the wonderful meals and gatherings we've attended since tobo was born. So, now that the invitations our out, I'm looking for good open house ideas. Yeah, we'll have cake, but really, I'd like to feed people more than just sweets. So, what was the most fun you had at an open house? What was the best dish? What is the old stand by that no open house should be without? Also, how many people can we legally fit in a 1050 sqft apartment? :D
We are planning on going out to see the opener of Watchmen. I know it's going to suck. I just know. Because you can't do the comic justice, and why would hollywood take the time to do so. But we're still going to go. I've decide to not re-read it right before hand, but instead linger over it afterwards in hopes that it will not wreck the whole story for me. I'm reading just trash right now. Eargon, because the cover is really cool and it comes in a set. Sad, I know. I hope to get back to something more edifying shortly.
Okay, you've been so patient, here are some photos "for those of you who have no interest in pirates."

Doug loves seeing deviled eggs at any gathering. Me, the ol' crackers/cheese/sausage slices make me very happy.
Depends on time of your open house, really... go with finger foods if you can.
And yay for Eragon! It was brainless but entertaining, with a slight twist here and there which made me pick up the second book.
Finger foods...fruit, veggies and dip...I have a super yum spinach dip recipe. You could make quiche or those mini quiches in mini-muffin size are finger-friendly. Banana bread, mini muffins, etc... Dang, can I come over?
Tobo has the greatest two-tooth smile!
