I thought I'd talk about my problem with status updates. Long ago in the dark ages of 1993, I got an email account and was introduced to a little thing called irc. Irc was fun and a way of chatting to all sorts of crazy people on line in "the mac lab" at college. (I had a word processor when I was at school) One of the things you could do is set the topic of the channel you were in. (cat has set the topic to status updates) You could also /me things. (Cat [/me] is surprised to not hear tobo crying.) These were highly addictive and awesome and most chat and IM clients continued that feature. This was no big deal until twitter and facebook came into my life. It's like being able to constantly set the topic of the channel or /me everything. If I could beg for ops and kick people off channel, it be like coming home. So now I find that I only think in one liners. Many of them a day, but still not full posts. I have bigger topics I could talk about, but my blog has turned into one big long status update. For instance, my day in one liner snippets:

Why?
A lot of my time is spent with tobo, so I am not online in a long enough blog normally to think through a post, so I end up with these little pieces of thought and some how that's my day. Or the posts I have seem so completely self absorbed I don't feel they are worth the effort. I hope this month of posting will help me to break the habit and talk about something other than what which room I am currently occupying and how it makes me feel.

This is why I love Twitter: a place to dump my witty commentary without pretending it is important enough for a blog post. Although this month it might end up as posts...(wmw is wondering what she will say on only day 2 of NaBloPoMo.)
I have found that I have less to blog now that I use my FB status. Just can't make the leap to Twitter.
I actually use my Twitter to update my FB status! How crazy is that?
